Badminton is fun for all ages!

Badminton is a sport that is fun for all ages - even when my son was a baby, he loved to hold his badminton racquet!

My name is Andy Chong and I've been playing since I was 11 years old when I used to watch my father play. Considering it's the #1 sport in my home country, Malaysia, there was always somebody to play with. We used the gate between us and our next door neighbor as the net and it quickly became a passion of mine because it didn't take a lot of equipment to play. I wanted to represent my country, Malaysia and I did it at the age of 16 years old when I represented Malaysia at the Commonwealth Games in Australia.

I came to the US because my family was here and I was curious about how the sport is represented. I'm encouraged to see it become an Olympic sport and was excited to help recruit and develop an Olympic team in 1992.

My badminton program is unique because I motivate others to succeed by being patient, determined and have a healthy sense of humor. I truly love this sport and it shows in my coaching style. Coaching is 100% physical training and 100% mental endurance, but it needs both of us to be partners to get the most out of your badminton experience.

I help you to train hard and play smart. The successful part is up to you.
